16 weeks! Boy or Girl?!

This week flew by! Between packing the house, finishing work, J taking his boards, finding out the sex, getting a new car, the sister-in-law visiting, and getting ready for Ocean City tomorrow, I've been a bit preoccupied! Luckily, we actually saw people this weekend, and went out for brunch AND dinner -- somewhat of a 'normal' lifestyle for us -- woohoo! Still no luck finding a place to live in Warner Robins, though. We leave for Orlando in a week and a half, and then to Warner Robins in early July. We'll find something -- I'm not stressing yet.

Baby B gets to travel with me to a place she (yes, I said she!) will become very familiar with and will grow to love -- OCEAN CITY!! A place where her daddy grew up going and loving every moment of. Let's hope for great weather and lots of fun and relaxation!

16 weeks

• How far along?: 16 weeks, 5 days
  
• Baby is the size of a: Avocado
  
• Total weight gain/loss: +6 (I lost a few last week and gained a few back)
  
• The Bump: I'm at that 'in between' stage of "hmm..is that girl pregnant or is she just fat?" ;)
  
• Symptoms: Just TIREDDD in the afternoons still.
  
• Food Cravings: Nada. It's more like what can I find to eat that I am actually in the mood for..?
  
• Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.
• Sleep: Like I said, I have been tired in the afternoons and have taken longgg naps. Except for those times at 4:30am when I'm wide awake and can't fall back asleep. The good shows don't start until 7am either...so those hours are boringgg for me! Saved By The Bell should start around 5am..just sayin!
  
• What I miss: I haven't been tempted by alcohol much lately, so I hadn't missed that....until this weekend. Hanging out in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta while seeing everyone with their deliciously cold beers made me want a sip..or two. I really was fine, but it's usually once I see an orange slice propped nicely on a frosty glass filled with Blue Moon that I think, hmm..I could go for one of those!
  
• Weddings Rings On or Off: On
• Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes, actually, this came very easy for us contrary to what everyone told us about picking out names...but you'll just have to wait ;)
• Gender Prediction: This momma was right!! BABY BARR IS A GIRL! I just had that feeling since we found out. I also read a study that showed 80% of mother's intuition are correct if they had no preference as to what the gender was. If the mother had a preference of boy or girl, her intuition was only correct 20% of the time. That study was pushing my thought of the baby being a girl even further! It only took an extra 20 minutes and a few jumping jacks to see what Baby Barr is due to her not wanting to move those legs ;)
  
• Movement: Felt a few flutters before but not since then. We saw her moving around on the screen-- just not feeling it myself too much yet!
  
• Maternity Clothes: I've worn a few things. Erica just gave me a bag full so I should be good for a little while!
  
• Labor Signs: None.
• Best Moment of the Week: Seeing our little girl on the ultrasound screen and getting to know her gender! It makes it seem so different actually knowing and being able to call her by her name and picture how things will be. We also got to hear her heartbeat and take a few pictures home. We love her :)
  
• What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Feeling Baby B move! And going to Ocean City to relaxxxx!!

15 weeks!

And now, we are caught up. :)

15 weeks

• How far along?: 15 weeks, 5 days
  
• Baby is the size of a: Navel Orange.
  
• Total weight gain/loss: +6
• The Bump: Shows in tighter shirts these days!
  
• Symptoms: Just getting very tired in the afternoons. A few days, I have come home and taken naps lasting a few hours.
  
• Food Cravings: Not really any.
  
• Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.
• Sleep: Progesterone knocks me out at night. And getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom has returned already. Well, that only lasted a week of not getting up!
  
• What I miss: While I'd love a Publix Sub every so often, I'm really okay without them so far. So not a whole lot! But, Carly and her mom were sampling Margaritas and Pina Coladas at the new movie tavern the other night and I would have loved to sample some myself, instead of judging how they tasted by their faces!
  
• Weddings Rings On or Off: On
• Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes, actually, this came very easy for us contrary to what everyone told us about picking out names...but you'll just have to wait ;)
• Gender Prediction: I have felt as though it's a girl since the beginning..but most people in the family are guessing boy. I really have no idea! And I can't even decide on which I would rather..I think I'll be equally happy with either! But yes, I'm predicting girl. James and family predict boy. Who's going to be right?!
  
• Movement: I've felt flutters in my belly for the past 2 days...but not sure if it's the baby or what..?!
  
• Maternity Clothes: Just the same I bought last week. I've worn the capri's a couple times. I feel so funny in them, but really don't think anyone can tell that they're maternity. Luckily I'll be able to wear dresses over the summer...even though I probably won't love the way they look on me!
  
• Labor Signs: None.
• Best Moment of the Week: Listening to baby's heart beat...and those flutters in my belly..although, like I said..no idea if it's definitely the baby! One can hope :)
  
• What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Well if all goes well, we should find out the gender of the baby very soon! Ahh. And confirming whether or not I'm feeling the baby move..I'm ready for those pesky kicks :) AND GOOD LUCK to Daddy on Step 1 of the boards in a few days!!!

14 weeks!

This was supposed to be posted last week :) We'll get caught up real quick!

14 weeks

How far along?: 14 weeks, 4 days

Baby is the size of a: Lemon. Is a lemon really bigger than the peach size the baby was last week...? Hmm!

Total weight gain/loss: +3.5-4.5

The Bump: It's showing when I wear tight shirts. Loose shirts still hide it well, which is good for work, since for some reason, I haven't told everyone there yet.

Symptoms: Nothing too bad! Except if something makes me laugh really hard (like Impractical Jokers or Betty White's Off Their Rockers), I get pains in/around my belly...same goes for sneezing! (thankfully I can hold my pee in! haha) but I think it's round ligament pain with the laughing/sneezing....Oh Betty White!

Food Cravings: Same as last week...fruit and sweets.

Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.

Sleep: Progesterone knocks me out at night. But waking up in the middle of the night subsided a little this week.

What I miss: Nothing pregnancy related, but miss my husband hanging out once in a while. Boards=no fun! Almost there!!

Weddings Rings On or Off: On

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes, actually, this came very easy for us contrary to what everyone told us about picking out names...but you'll just have to wait ;)

Gender Prediction: I am still thinking girl, but everyone else is starting to make me second guess why I even have that intuition? So really, I don't know!

Movement: Not yet.

Maternity Clothes: I did buy a few actually. The unbuttoned pants look has become an everyday thing for me, so I finally got some stuff. Thanks to Chiaki for the Motherhood coupon :) And luckily, we have an outlet here.

Labor Signs: None.

Best Moment of the Week: Listening to the baby's heart beat on the doppler :)

13 weeks!

So this post was meant to be up about 2 weeks ago :) Things are cuh-razy these days, though! Attempting to pack up our house, J studying for boards like it's his job (well, it is, I guess!), me getting ready to finish up with work, shooting the med school graduation, and loving our baby has consumed most of my time. We have a crazy couple of weeks (well, months) coming up, so I'm trying to be as ready as I can for them!

I'm going to try to document the pregnancy week-by-week, using inspiration from blogs like Little Baby Garvin, and Our Little Casita. Fun :)

Ladies and gentlemen, I now present you:

13 weeks!

How far along?: 13 weeks, 5 days

Baby is the size of a: Georgia Peach!

Total weight gain/loss: +3

The Bump: It's rounding out a little.

Symptoms: Hmm..not too many this week!

Food Cravings: Nada. But I do love me some fruit and sweets. Must stop with the latter though!

Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.

Sleep: Progesterone knocks me out at night. But I do have to wake up in the middle of the night every night to go to the bathroom -- something I am NOT used to!

What I miss: While I'd love to say that I miss sipping on some beers outside in the sun, I know I wouldn't be doing that even if I weren't pregnant because my husband is glued to his desk studying for boards. Literally can't even get him out to dinner these days! (completely understandable!) So as of now, I'm not missing too much!

Weddings Rings On or Off: On

Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yes, actually, this came very easy for us contrary to what everyone told us about picking out names...but you'll just have to wait ;)

Gender Prediction: I've been thinking girl since the beginning, but I think that's only because people close to me have girls. The rest of the family thinks boy. I have so many reasons why I want either, so with the first, I'll be happy with a boy or a girl! I'm actually kinda excited that it's still a mystery.

Movement: Not yet.

Maternity Clothes: None. Although I did peek at some in Target...maternity clothes are ugly to me. I'll leave it at that! And expensive.

Labor Signs: None.

Best Moment of the Week: We got to see our baby having a ton of fun in my belly! Baby B was rolling all around, sucking it's thumb, swallowing fluids, puckering it's lips, waving it's hand....and it was on my birthday! Amazing :)

What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Hmm..feeling the baby move!

our family is expanding!

Yup..that's right!

We are beyond blessed to be expecting a little miracle!

I couldn't have imagined what it would feel like to first find out that a tiny little baby, OUR baby, is growing in me, and I still couldn't even explain to you the feelings it brings once it's real. The moment we saw that teeny tiny little baby on the screen at about 6.5 weeks, I felt J's hand slip into mine in pure happiness and disbelief as we watched our little baby's heart flicker quickly.

Holy crap..that's our baby!

Think I even got a tear or 2 after listening to this song by Creed...

As Uncle Tom said, I was added to the "mom's to call" list this year, and I am so excited about that :)

We are praying for a healthy pregnancy and can't wait to meet our little one. And we are absolutely thrilled that our family is expanding by 2 more feet!
